About the event

Do you ever marvel at the audacity of children to declare no and/or ask for what they want? Want to get back in touch with that?

How To Ask For What you want is a weekend immersion that primarily invites you to notice yourself and practice making choices.

Through the practices of the Wheel of Consent®, guided embodiment, and optional structured touch, we’ll practice:

- shifting out of over-giving and into clarity

- identifying and honoring our current yes, no, and maaaybe

- making clear agreements

- giving and receiving

You may find that you also reconnect with your body, your boundaries, and your ability to ask for what you truly want. This isn’t about performance or pressure. It’s about presence, and more intentional connection — with yourself and others

Whether you’re struggling to find your voice, seeking a refresher on (or never learned) how to be your own cheerleader, or are simply longing for more intimacy — this workshop offers a supportive space to slow down, tune in, and learn to receive without guilt or apology.

No previous experience with consent work or touch-based practices is necessary — just a willingness to show up with honesty and curiosity. In this workshop, we will remain clothed and will not engage in or invite touch of a sexual nature. You do not need to engage in touch to participate fully. Attend solo or bring a friend or partner(s).

Your Facilitators

Sasha (they/them) has worked with movement, sexuality, gender, bodywork and consent education for over 20 years. They are a certified facilitator of the Wheel of Consent and faculty with the School of Consent. They are in private practice as a Somatic Sex Educator. They have taught and danced all over the world in contact improvisation, aerial/circus and integrated/disability dance. Other influences in their thinking include years of hospice care work, elections work, and in cooperative business and living structures. They are a white Jewish queer non-binary trans person who finds joy in teaching from and about the body and how we connect our insides to the outsides. They currently work and live in HoChunk land called DeJope (Madison, WI, US).

Tunde J.O. (Maer/Mer, She/Her) is a facilitator, educator, and coach with a focus on identity, consent, and dismantling systemic oppression.

She takes joy in helping clients recognize their individual relationships to power, and then offering somatic tools for compassionately addressing their histories and socializations to make strong choices and take needed steps toward their own (and therefore our collective) liberation.

Tunde, also an educator and visual/performing artist, holds a BFA from Washington University in St. Louis, is a certified Diversity Facilitrainer with NCCJ St. Louis, a certified Big Leap Coach through the Hendricks Institute, a certified Urban Tantra Practitioner, a STARLING Healer, and a Wheel of Consent facilitator in training. In mer free time, Tunde can be found exploring the world through taste/flavor and taking copious pictures of delicious food, captivating skylines, and pets (mers and yours if you'll let mer).
